RESOLUTION NO. 02— 905
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
RELATED TO THE PEACE IN THE HOOD FESTIVAL,
TO BE HELD ON THE STREETS OF MIAMI ON
AUGUST 17, 2002; AUTHORIZING THE WAIVER OF
FEES AND PERMITS PERMISSIBLE BY LAW AND THE
PROVISION OF SERVICES, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $10,200.00; AUTHORIZING THE
ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FOR SAID SERVICES FROM
THE SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT, CODE
NO. 001000921054.289; SAID AUTHORIZATIONS
CONDITIONED UPON THE ORGANIZERS:
(1) OBTAINING ALL PERMITS REQUIRED BY LAW;
(2) PAYING FOR ALL OTHER NECESSARY COSTS OF
CITY SERVICES AND APPLICABLE FEES ASSOCIATED
WITH SAID EVENT; (3) OBTAINING INSURANCE TO
PROTECT THE CITY IN THE AMOUNT AS PRESCRIBED
BY THE CITY MANAGER; AND (4) COMPLYING WITH
ALL CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS AS MAY BE
PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The waiver of fees and permits
permissible by the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as
amended, and the provision of services, in an amount not to
exceed $10,200.00, is authorized for the Peace in the Hood

Festival, to be held on the Streets of Miami, Florida on
August 17,
2002, with
the
allocation
of funds
for said
services
authorized
from
the
Special
Events
Account,
Code
No. 001000921054.289.
Section 2. The herein authorizations are conditioned
upon the organizers: (1) obtaining all permits required by law;
(2) paying for all other necessary costs of City services and
applicable fees associated with said event; (3) obtaining
insurance to protect the City in the amount as prescribed by the
City Manager; and (4) complying with all conditions and
limitations as may be prescribed by the City Manager.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.!'
1� If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become
effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was
passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it
shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by
the City Commission.
