HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-02-0850J-02-642 7/11/02 RESOLUTION NO. 02— 850 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO TAKE ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY, INCLUDING FILING SUIT, TO ENFORCE THE TERMS OF THE REVOCABLE LICENSE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND LANZO CONSTRUCTION CO. FLORIDA FOR THE OCCUPANCY OF PROPERTY ON VIRGINIA KEY, MIAMI, FLORIDA. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Attorney is directed to take all actions necessary, including filing suit, to enforce the terms of the Revocable License Agreement between the City of Miami and Lanzo Construction Co. Florida for the occupancy of property on Virginia Key, Miami, Florida. Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.'/ �i If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission. (J-02-642) The City entered into a Revocable License Agreement with Lanzo Construction, Co. effective September 1, 2000 for the storage of construction materials on Virginia Key. Lanzo Construction, Co. has defaulted on the monthly license fee of $519.75 and has not responded to the Manager's letter terminating the agreement. The attached proposed Resolution seeks authorization for the filing of a lawsuit to collect all past due fees. The company has vacated the premises. W740:JHV cc: Carlos A.
