Mr. Carlos A. Gimenez
City Manager
City of Miami
Miami, Fl.
Dear Mr. Gimenez:
On September 11, 2002, America's Life Line Foundation, a Non -Profit Organization, is
hosting A Tribute to America - A Patriotic Event, one of our many Patriotic Events scheduled for
this year. It will be a commemorative celebration, which will bring together Local Municipalities
hosting one big event. It is also a dedication to our Armed Forces as well as all men and women
in uniform who risk their lives every day for the brotherhood of man and for all Americans, to lift
their spirits and show the world "We're America: Strong, Proud, Brave and Bold':
This event, under the direction of Salvador Urdanavia formerly Director of Concerts at
Madison Square Garden in New York, will be held at the James L Knight Convention Center. It
will be a magnificent display of Patriotism, a showcase and collaboration of multicultural talent
gathered from our Schools' Choruses and Orchestras, there will be close to one thousand children
participating in this event as well as the men and women of uniform, to display their talents and
perform along with several renowned guests, officials, and local talent the 218" Century Anthem
and many other patriotic songs. It will not only be educational, entertaining and uplifting for our
young, but for grown ups as well, from all walks of life. Miami will be the first City and
birthplace of this Signature Event, which will engender similar events scheduled in various cities
around the United States promoting Patriotism through the Arts in the 218` Century.
There's a sense of urgency for this Patriotic Event to unite all Americans and bring back
the Patriotism that has been lost in the last Century and we want you to become part of this one of
a kind commemoration. We're seeking to involve as many local Municipalities as possible and
with the support we have from U.S. Senator Graham, U.S. Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen,
U.S. Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart, South Miami Mayor Robaina, Coral Gables Mayor
Slesnick, Homestead Vice -Mayor and other prominent officials, we're sure to get many to
participate in order to provide the public with a FREE EVENT. We would appreciate your letter
of support and any help you can give us to make this a great patriotic event.
We would like to extend to you, your family and entire staff an invitation to join us and
become a part of this uplifting, robust and dynamic Signature Event that provokes emotion
through patriotism and music.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your upcoming patriotic
commemorative concert "A Tribute to America A Patriotic Event". Your effort is ensuring that it will
become Miami's premier signature event. Our community greatly needs a commemorative celebration
which will bring together all of Miami Dade County's local municipalities hosting one big event. Of
special importance is the fact that this is also a dedication to our armed forces and all men and women in
uniform who risk their lives every day for the brotherhood of man and for all Americans to lift their spirits
and show the world "We're America: Strong, Proud, Brave, and Bold."
This event, under the direction of Salvador Urdanavia, formerly Director of Concerts at Madison
Square Garden in New York, will be a magnificent display of patriotism, a showcase and collaboration of
multicultural talent gathered from our school's student choruses and orchestras, and the men and women of
uniform, to display their talents and to perform along with international singer Ted Maliaris and several
renowned guests and officials, his 21" Century Anthem and many other patriotic songs.
There's a sense of urgency for this patriotic event to unite all Americans and bring back the
patriotism that has been lost in the last century and what better way to do so than by having this robust,
diversified, dynamic event where a large segment of the community could participate.
I sincerely hone many will ioin "A Tribute to America" and become part of this important and
uplifting celebration that provokes emotion through patriotism and music

Di, -at Amit and Ted:
It was a pleasure meeting you at the "Heroes of 2001" stamp ceremony Monday, June 24`x, 2002.
I am glad we had a chance to discuss your special project which will continuously reinforce the
deep and abiding feelings we Americans have for our country.
"Strong, Proud, Brave, Bold." These words from your original song describe the essence of what
America is and this spirit is beautifully conveyed in your album "A Tribute to America: A 21"
Century Anthem".
Since September 11°i, America has suffered grievously." We have mourned our countrymen and
watched in horror as monuments of our strength and our success crumbled before our very eyes.
But out of the rubble, we have crawled. We have survived. We have rebuilt:' We have
reinforced and recognized what it means to be Americans. We are proud of our nation and its
amazing melting pot of races, ethnicities, religions and beliefs. We are now stronger than ever
and your efforts to bring A Tribute to America - A Patriotic Event to the Miami area proves just
how resilient Americans can be.
Thank you for writing and recording such a beautiful song and organizing a patriotic day of
remembrance which is sure to be a meaningful experience for all. You are both models of what
good American citizens should be.
With kind regards,

I was honored to receive your invitation to America's Life Line Foundation's "A Tribute
to America - A Patriotic Event" to be held Wednesday, September 11, 2002.
Unfortunately, I am unable to participate since the U.S. Congress will be in legislative
session in Washington, D.C.
However, I wanted to take advantage of this special moment to express my best wishes,
and congratulate the many individuals whose hard work and dedication make the celebration of
this important event possible.
I would also like to take this opportunity to offer my support to the America's Life Line
Foundation. It is thanks to organizations such as this that United States and the American people
can have such bright futures. As the father of two boys, I thank and commend you for all your
hard work and perseverance on behalf of our children and our armed forces.
