Home My WebLink AboutR-02-0802J-02-708 7/9/02 Q RESOLUTION NO. 02- 8 0 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION STRONGLY URGING THE RATIFICATION OF THE EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT BY THE STATE OF FLORIDA; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE HEREIN DESIGNATED OFFICIALS. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The ratification of the Equal Rights Amehdment by the State of Florida is strongly urged. Section 2. The City Clerk is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Governor Jeb Bush, Lieutenant Governor Frank T. Brogan, President of the Florida Senate James E. "Jim" King, Jr., Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives Johnnie Byrd, all members of the Miami -Dade County Legislative Delegation, and to the National Organization of Women ("NOW") in Washington, D.C., the Florida NOW, and all Miami -Dade County NOW Chapters.
