HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-02-0766J-02-655 7/26/02 nn c� RESOLUTION NO. 0 2` 766 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE SELECTION OF TWO (2) QUALIFIED PROVIDERS TO BE ADDED TO THE CURRENT LIST OF PROVIDERS FOR LATENT PRINT EXAMINATION SERVICES, AS LISTED ON "EXHIBIT A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO (1) EXECUTE AGREEMENT(S), IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, WITH THE TWO (2) NEW PROVIDERS, ON AN AS - NEEDED BASIS, FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR, (2) AMEND THE AGREEMENTS OF THE CURRENT PROVIDERS BY INCREASING THE AGREEMENTS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $45,000, FROM $75,000 TO $120,000 ANNUALLY, AND (3) INCREASE THE HOURLY RATE FROM $35.00 TO $40.00 PER HOUR; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET, ACCOUNT CODE NO. 001000.290201.6.270. WHEREAS, the Police Department requires Latent Print Examination Services and wishes to add providers to the previously established Qualified List of Providers on an as -needed basis; and WHEREAS, a revised Request for Qualifications, RFQ 99-00-124, was re -issued to solicit for additional providers; and WHEREAS, four (4) responses were received of which two (2) were deemed qualified; and :G= COMMMON KErM,G Ori J U N 2 ? 2002 Resalution No. 02- 766 WHEREAS, the City of Miami reserves the right to add qualified vendors as it deems necessary; and WHEREAS, funds for Latent Print Examination Services are available from the Police General Operating Budget, Account Code No. 001000.290201.6.270, in an annual amount not to exceed $120,000; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Chief of Police recommend that the vendors listed on the Attachment be accepted and placed on the Qualified List to perform said services; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to accept the selection of two (2) qualified providers to be added to the current list of providers for Latent Print Examination Services for the Police Department, as listed on "Exhibit A," attached and incorporated. Section 3. The City Manager is further authorizedll to 1� The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. Page 2 of 3 02- 766 (1) execute agreements, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, with the providers, (2) amend the agreements with the current providers by increasing the agreement, in an amount not to exceed $45,000, from $75,000 to $120,000 annually, and (3) increase the hourly rate from $35.00 to $40.00 per hour, with funds allocated from the Police General Operating Budget, Account Code No. 001000.290201.6.270. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
