A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SELL SIX (6) SURPLUS CITY -OWNED 1994 CHEVROLET CAPRICE VEHICLES, AS DESCRIBED HEREIN, TO COLUMBIA PICTURES, IND., FOR THE FILMING OF THE MOTION PICTURE ENTITLED "BAD BOYS II," AT THE AMOUNT OF $2,000 PER VEHICLE, FOR WHICH COLUMBIA PICTURES, IND. SHALL BEAR THE FULL COST TO RECEIVE SUCH VEHICLES; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS AND APPROPRIATE RELEASE DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, TO CONSUMMATE THE SALE. WHEREAS, Columbia Pictures, Ind. has expressed an interest in purchasing six (6) surplus police units to be used as props for the feature movie "Bad Boys II," which will be filming in the Miami area from July 15 through October 21, 2002; and WHEREAS, the Department of General Services Administration ("GSA"), Fleet Management Division, has identified six (6) 1994 Chevrolet Caprice vehicles that have been earmarked to be removed from fleet service and sold at auction; and CITY C: KEETWO JUN 13 2002 aysahAom M. 02- 706 WHEREAS, based on the most recent GSA auction, it has been determined that a fair market price for each vehicle is $2,000; and WHEREAS, Columbia Pictures, Ind. shall bear the full cost to receive such vehicles; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to sell six (6) surplus 1994 Chevrolet Caprice vehicles, with the Serial Numbers as listed herein, to Columbia Pictures, Ind., for the filming of the motion picture entitled "Bad Boys II," at the amount of $2,000 per vehicle, for which Columbia Pictures, Ind. shall bear the full cost to receive such vehicles: Serial Nos. 1G1BL52W9RR149457 1G1BL52W1RR147461 1G1BL52W7RR147500 lGlBL52WXRR148012 1G1BL52W7RR149764 1G1BL52W5RR146863 Page 2 of 3 02— 706 Q6 Section 3. The City Manager is authorizedll to execute the necessary documents and appropriate release documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, to consummate the sale. Section 4.
