RESOLUTION NO. 02- 633
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION,
WITH ATTACHMENT(S), CODESIGNATING CERTAIN
THOROUGHFARES IN HONOR OF FALLEN CITY OF
MIAMI POLICE OFFICERS, FIREFIGHTERS AND
EMPLOYEES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL
SERVICES ADMINISTRATION, AS MORE PARTICULARLY
SET FORTH IN EXHIBIT "A" ATTACHED HERETO AND
INCORPORATED; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO
TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE
DESIGNATED OFFICES HEREIN.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Certain thoroughfares in honor of fallen City
of Miami police officers, firefighters and employees of the
Department of General Services Administration are codesignated,
as more particularly set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and
incorporated.
Section 2. The City Manager is directed to instruct the
Director of Public Works to transmit a copy of this resolution to

the City of Miami Departments of Police, Fire -Rescue, General
Services Administration and Solid Waste, the Miami -Dade County
Department of Public Works and United States Postal Service.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.'''/

1� If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at
the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If
the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately
upon override of the veto by the City Commission.

of Miami Police and Firefighters

The City of Miami Street Codesignation Committee recommends that the City of Miami
Commission adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the codesignation of streets to be named in
honor of fifty-three (53) city personnel listed in the following pages.
BACKGROUND
It is important to honor the contributions of fallen City of Miami Police officers and Firefighters
who have given the ultimate. sacrifice in defending and protecting the residents of the City of
Miami. Recent events in our. country have brought to the forefront the courage and sublime sense
of duty that dictates these heroes' service to their communities. We should not be remiss in
instilling within our own community a sense of appreciation for their sacrifice.
