A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
AUTHORIZING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,254
FOR SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED BY THE
DEPARTMENT OF POLICE FOR THE ROOTS AND
CULTURE PARADE EVENT, SCHEDULED FOR MAY 25-
27, 2002; ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR SAID SERVICES
FROM THE SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT, CODE
NO. 001000921054.6.289; AUTHORIZING A WAIVER
OF THE POLICE ADMINISTRATIVE SURCHARGE IN
THE AMOUNT OF $3,819; SAID GRANT AND WAIVER
ARE CONDITIONED UPON THE ORGANIZERS: (1)
OBTAINING ALL PERMITS REQUIRED BY LAW; (2)
PAYING FOR ALL OTHER NECESSARY COSTS OF CITY
SERVICES AND APPLICABLE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH
SAID EVENT; AND (3) COMPLYING WITH ALL
CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS AS MAY BE
PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. A grant, in an amount of twelve
thousand two hundred fifty-four dollars ($12,254), for services
to be provided by the Department of Police for the Roots and
Culture Parade event, scheduled for May 25-27, 2002, is

authorized, with funds allocated from the Special Events
Account, Code No. 001000921054.6.289.
Section 2. The police administrative surcharge in the
amount of three thousand eight hundred nineteen dollars ($3,819)
is waived.
Section 3. This grant and waiver are conditioned upon
the organizers: (1) obtaining all permits required by law;
(2) paying for all other necessary costs of City services and
applicable fees associated with the event; and (3) complying
with all conditions and limitations as may be prescribed by the
City Manager or designee.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.'/
1 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become
effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was
passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it
shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by
the City Commission.
