Q 552 A RESOLUTION OF THE OF MIAMI CITY COMMISSION CODESIGNATING NORTHWEST 14TH STREET FROM NORTHWEST 3RD TO 7TH AVENUES, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS "TORNADO WAY;" FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE HEREIN DESIGNATED OFFICES. WHEREAS, the City of Miami would like to recognize Booker T. Washington High School, an established center of education that has produced many distinguished people; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 10761, adopted July 12, 1990, created the Miami Street Codesignation Committee and entrusted said Committee with the responsibility of reviewing street codesignation requests and making recommendations to the City Commission in its determination as to whether or not a street should be codesignated or a marker or plaza should be designated; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the City Commission's directive, the Miami Street Codesignation Review Committee, at its meeting of CITY COMOSSION MEETIN-C, 6F i ,� y - 2002 Hasuiutripn i�Co. 02- 552 September 19, 2001, reviewed the proposal for a codesignation for "Tornado Way" and recommended the codesignation of Northwest 14th Street from Northwest 3rd to 7th Avenues as "Tornado Way"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings set forth in the Preamble to this resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Northwest 14th Street, from Northwest 3rd to 7th Avenues, Miami, Florida, is codesignated as "Tornado Way". Section 3. The City Clerk is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Departments of Police, Fire -Rescue, General Services Administration and Solid Waste, the Miami -Dade County Department of Public Works and the United States Postal Service. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.11 1� If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
