HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-02-0477J-02-447 4/25/02 RESOLUTION NO. 02— 47` A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION RELATED TO THE AFRICANDO TRADE AND INVESTMENT CONFERENCE, CONDUCTED BY THE FOUNDATION FOR DEMOCRACY IN AFRICA (THE "ORGANIZER"), TO BE HELD AT BAYFRONT PARK MAY 8 - 12, 2002; AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $8,274, TO BE PAID TO THE BAYFRONT PARK MANAGEMENT TRUST TO COVER THE COSTS OF FEES AND PERMITS FOR THE PROVISION OF SERVICES BY THE DEPARTMENTS OF POLICE AND FIRE -RESCUE; CONDITIONING SAID AUTHORIZATION UPON THE ORGANIZERS: (1) OBTAINING ALL PERMITS REQUIRED BY LAW; (2) PAYING FOR ALL OTHER NECESSARY COSTS OF CITY SERVICES AND APPLICABLE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONFERENCE; (3) OBTAINING INSURANCE TO PROTECT THE CITY IN THE AMOUNT AS PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER; AND (4) COMPLYING WITH ALL CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS AS MAY BE PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The allocation of funds, in an amount not to exceed $8,274, is authorized to be paid to the Bayfront Park Management Trust to cover the costs of fees and permits for the provision of services by the Departments of Police and Fire -Rescue for the Africando Trade and Investment Conference, conducted by the Foundation for Democracy in Africa (the "Organizer"), to be held at Bayfront Park May 8 -12, 2002. This authorization is conditioned upon the Organizers: (1) obtaining all permits required by law; (2) paying for all other necessary costs of City services and applicable fees associated with said Conference; (3) obtaining insurance to protect the City in the amount as prescribed by the City Manager; and (4) complying with all conditions and limitations as may be prescribed by the City Manager.
