RESOLUTION NO. 02- 4 01
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND SINCEREST
CONDOLENCES ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
AND ITS CITIZENS TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF
LUIS SABINES, SR., UPON HIS UNTIMELY DEATH.
WHEREAS, Luis Sabines, Sr., who was the longtime president
of the Latin Chamber of Commerce (CAMACOL), recently passed away;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sabines, traveled to trade missions in Latin
America and Europe to bring overseas companies to Miami, assisted
countless small-business owners finance their initial infusion of
cash and guidance for starting new businesses and also financed
individuals to jump-start struggling businesses; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sabines was a devoted family man who donated
and distributed bags of food to the needy at Christmas, and
created an atmosphere of brotherhood during difficult tasks and
managed to resolve issues in a friendly, jovial manner; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission, on behalf
of the City of Miami and its citizens, to express its deepest
sympathy to the family and friends of Luis Sabines, Sr.;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. On behalf of the citizens of the City of
Miami, the City Commission hereby conveys to the family and
friends of Luis Sabines, Sr., its deepest sympathy and sincerest
condolences upon his untimely death.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of April , 2002.

Dear Mr. Sabines:
On behalf of the Mayor, Miami Commission and citizens of the City of Miami, please accept our
sincerest condolences on the untimely passing of your father, Luis Sabines, Sr.
Enclosed herein, please find an expression of sympathy by the Miami Commission as
appropriately formalized by the passage of Resolution Nos. 02-401 and 02-402. Said legislation,
which was signed by Mayor Diaz, was passed and adopted by the City of Miami Commission at
a special meeting held on April 12, 2002.
In closing, our heartfelt thoughts are with you and your family members during this most
difficult period.
