RESOLUTION NO. 02- 38 1
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION,
INVITING INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY CORPORATION,
HOMESTEAD -MIAMI SPEEDWAY, AND ANY OTHER
ENTITY IN THE NATION INVOLVED IN MOTORSPORTS
RACING TO SUBMIT AN UNSOLICITED OFFER OR
PROPOSAL FOR RACE/MOTORSPORTS EVENT(S) TO BE
HELD IN DOWNTOWN MIAMI.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami has a multitude of events in the
City, particularly in Downtown Miami; and
WHEREAS, Raceworks, LLC has made an unsolicited offer to
hold a motorsports race in Downtown Miami; and
WHEREAS, the City seeks to invite any entity that may be
interested in promoting a motorsports race in Downtown Miami to
make an unsolicited offer for such a race in Downtown Miami;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The International Speedway Corporation,
Homestead -Miami Speedway, and any other entity in the nation
involved in motorsports racing is invited to submit an
unsolicited offer or proposal for race/motorsports event(s) in

Downtown Miami, providing that such motorsports race events dates
do not conflict with other events that have been previously
scheduled in Downtown Miami.
Section 3. The City Manager is directed to publish an
advertisement of the City Commission's invitation.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.'''/

y' If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at
the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If
the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately
upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
