HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-02-0279J-02-259 3/14/02 RESOLUTION NO. 02— 279 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING A WORKING GROUP TO DETERMINE WHETHER TO CONTINUE THE TRADITION OF THE ANNUAL KING ORANGE PARADE ON NEW YEAR'S EVE AND THE ORANGE BOWL FOOTBALL GAME ON NEW YEAR'S DAY, SAID GROUP TO CONSIST OF THE MAYOR, THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COMMISSION, WITH COMMISSIONER JOE SANCHEZ SERVING AS CHAIRPERSON, THE CITY MANAGER, GWEN MARGOLIES, WHO IS CHAIRPERSON OF THE METROPOLITAN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PLANNING ORGANIZATION, AND REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, MIAMI SPORTS AND EXHIBITION AUTHORITY, AND BAYFRONT PARK MANAGEMENT TRUST. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. A working group is established to determine whether to continue the tradition of the Annual King Orange Parade on New Year's Eve and the Orange Bowl Football Game on New Year's Day, Section 2. The membership of the group shall consist of: (a) the Mayor who shall serve as liaison; (b) the members of the City Commission with Commissioner Joe Sanchez designated as Chairperson; CITY = KEETM ��Ri � zaaz Rasolutkon Pksi. 02— 279 9 0 0 (c) the City Manager; (d) Gwen Margolies, who is Chairperson of the Metropolitan Miami -Dade County Planning Organization; (e) a representative of the Downtown Development Authority; (f) a representative of the Miami Sports and Exhibition Authority; and (g) a representative of the Bayfront Park Management Trust.
