HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-02-0236J--02-327 3/7/02 RESOLUTION NO. 02— 236 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $15,000 FROM AN ACCOUNT TO BE IDENTIFIED BY THE CITY MANAGER TO PROVIDE LOWER INCOME HOMEOWNERS WITH FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR REQUIRED EMERGENCY REPAIRS IDENTIFIED BY CITY OF MIAMI CODE ENFORCEMENT INSPECTORS THAT ARE DETERMINED TO BE OF IMMEDIATE HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARDS FOR THE INHABITANTS AND FOR WHICH THE OWNER OR RESIDENT OF THE PROPERTY HAS NO FINANCIAL MEANS OF MAKING SUCH REPAIRS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DETERMINE WHETHER THE FUNDS SHALL BE PROVIDED TO THE OWNER(S) OR RESIDENT(S) AS A GRANT OR A LOAN; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENT(S), IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The allocation of funds, in an amount not to exceed $15,000 from an account to be identified by the City Manager, is authorized to provide lower income homeowners with financial assistance for required emergency repairs identified by City of Miami Code Enforcement Inspectors that are determined METING 6F MAR 0 7 �UU� gosal,ution No. 0- 23.6 0 to be of immediate health and safety hazards for the inhabitants and for which the owner or resident of the property has no financial means of making such repairs. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to determine whether the funds shall be provided to the owner(s) or resident(s) as a grant or loan. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized11 to execute all necessary document(s), in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor./ 1� The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including bur not limited to Chose prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. if the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
