The bid of Pride Enterprises, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder pursuant to Invitation :dor Bids No. 00-01-290, for the procurement of one DUI/breath alcohol testing vehicle for the Department of General Services Administration for use by the Department of Police, in an amount not to exceed $139,594.25, is accepted, with funds allocated from the Law Enforcement Block Grant V, Account Code No. 142023.290325.6.840. Gimenez City Manager RECOMMENDATION: DATE TE9 2 6 2002 FILE: SUBJECT: proposed Resolution Authorizing the Purchase of REFERENCES: One (1) DUI/Breath Alcohol Testing Vehicle ENCLOSURES: Bid No. 00-01-290 It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting the bid of Pride Enterprises, a Nan-Minority/Non-Local vendor, located at 3950 Tiger Bay Road, Daytona Beach, FL 32124, for the procurement of one (1) DUI/Breath Alcohol Testing vehicle for the Department of General Services Administration to be used by the Miami Police Department, in an amount not to exceed $139,594.25. Funds are available from the Miami Police Department, Law Enforcement Block Grant V, Account Code No. 142023.290525.6.840. BACKGROUND: The Department of General Services Administration has analyzed the bids received pursuant to Bid No. 00-01-290. Thirty-six (36) Invitations for Bids were mailed and five (5) responses were received. The bid submitted by Pride Enterprises was the lowest most responsible and responsive bid meeting specifications (price includes options a and b). This DUI/Breath Alcohol Testing vehicle is necessary in order for the Miami Police Department to conduct field DUI testing.
