A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION,
WITH ATTACHMENT, ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION
OF THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE THE FINDINGS
OF THE SELECTION COMMITTEES, PURSUANT TO
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, FOR THE MOST QUALIFIED
FIRMS TO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR
PUBLIC WORKS CATEGORY "B" DESIGNATED PROJECTS
FOR 2002 THROUGH 2004 LISTED BY SPECIALTY IN
RANK ORDER; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENTS WITH EACH FIRM IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED THE AMOUNT INDICATED IN ATTACHMENT "A"
FOR EACH SPECIALTY FOR EACH FIRM; ALLOCATING
FUNDS FROM INDIVIDUAL PROJECT ACCOUNTS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,

section 15. The City Manager is authorized!/ to negotiate
and execute Professional Services Agreements, in a form
acceptable to the City Attorney, with each firm in an amount not
to exceed the amount indicated in Attachment "A" for each
specialty for each firm, with funds allocated from individual
project accounts.
ii The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all
requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not
limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.

immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor./

the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If
the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately
upon override of the veto by the City Commission.

It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission accept the
recommendations of the Competitive Selection Committee by adopting
the attached resolution approving the selection of the most
qualified firms to provide "Professional Services for City of
Miami Projects - 2002, 2003 and 2004; and authorizing the City
Manager to negotiate and execute Professional Service Agreements
with the top rated firms.
BACKGROUND:
The City is proposing in *the immediate future to contract for a
substantial number of projects involving professional services.
The Public Works Department is insufficiently staffed to
accomplish all services required for these projects. It is
necessary, therefore, to engage private firms to provide
professional services for the 2002, 2003 & 2004 calendar years.
In accordance with City of Miami Ordinance No. 9572, and as
authorized by Resolution No. 01-332, 01-333 an 01-334, passed and
adopted on April 18, 2001, a Competitive Selection Committee was
appointed in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 18 of the
Miami City Code.

REQUEST FOR
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR
SURVEYING AND MAPPING
ARCHITECTURAL, LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURAL
ENGINEERING AND PLANNING SERVICES
The City of Miami, Florida through the Public Works Department is inviting interested parties (i.e.,
firms, teams, joint ventures) to submit a statement of qualifications for providing Professional
Services in the fields of Surveying, Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Engineering.
Professional certifications shall be current and valid at the time of proposal submission.
It is the City's intent to select several firms for professional services. Ordinance No. 10062, as
