Constantz Executive Director RECOMMENDATION • CA -3 December 17, 2001 SUBJECT: Resolution – purchase Bayfront Park two- way radio system, pursuant to Bid No, 00-1-292 It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution enabling the Bayfront Park Management Trust to purchase twenty-two (22) YAESU two-way radios, twenty-two (22) YAESU headsets, one (1) YAESU base station, one (1) YAESU microphone, and one (1) base antenna, from Superior Communications, Inc., a non -local Hispanic firm, for the Bayfront Park Management Trust, at a total an )unt not to exceed $8,115.00; is hereby approved; with funds therefor allocated from the Trust � Capital Improvement Budget.. BACKGROUND The Bayfront Park Management Trust (Trust) was created by the Miami City Commission to direct, operate, -manage and maintain Bayfront Park for the purposes of ensuring maximum community utilization and enjoyment. Bayfront Park is the City of Miami's premier public park, hosting 50 special events and concerts annually. Two-way radio communication between Bayfront Park staff and various users of the site are essential on special event days, as well as during regular workdays. The City of Miami General Services Administration consulted with Bayfront Park staff and identified the aforementioned YAESU two-way radio package as the most appropriate for the organization's needs. This purchase was approved by the Bayfront Park Management Trust with resolution No. 01-046 at its July 224, 2001 meeting. The funds for this purchase are available from the Bayfront Park Management Trust Capital Improvement Budget. The Bayfront Park Management Trust and the Executive Director of the Trust respectfully request that this purchase be approved.
