BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Commission -at -Large hereby appoints the following individuals as members of the Civil Service Board, for terms expiring on January 27, 2004: APPOINTEES: Frankie Rolle Gerald Silverman Mariano Cruz Section 2. The elections of the following individuals to serve as members of the Civil Service Board are hereby confirmed, for terms expiring on January 27, 2004: City Commission Meeting of January 24, 2002 Resolution Number 02-89 • 0 ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES: SEAT REPRESENTED: Eloy Garcia Jorge L. Foeman REFERENCES City Clerk ENCLosURES December 17, 2001 Civil Service Board January 24, 2002 Agenda FILE : List of Members, Resolution Subject to the approval of the City Commission, the Civil Service Board was created to adopt, amend and enforce a code of rules and regulations which shall have the force and effect of law, providing for appointment and employment in all positions in the classified service, based on merit, efficiency, character, and industry; and to make investigations concerning the enforcement and effect of this article and of the rules adopted; and shall make an annual report to the Commission. All five members' terms expire on January 27, 2002. Three of said members are appointed by the Commission at -large and two are elected by employees of the City with civil service status. The Civil Service Board Employee Election was held on December 6 and 7, 2001, and the runoff on December 13 and 14, 2001. • The Commission at large has three (3) appointments to make for seats currently held by Gerald Silverman, Frankie Rolle and Martin Garcia, whose terms all expire on January 27, 2002. • The Commission at large is requested to confirm the results of the Civil Service Board Employee Elections. Eloy Garcia was elected for Seat No. 1 and Jorge L. Garcia was elected for Seat No. 2. For your information, attached please find a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this memorandum to the Agenda Office, we are requesting that this issue be placed on the January 24, 2002 Commission agenda.
