A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO GRANT FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $5,000, TO THE MARTIN LUTHER KING PARADE COMMITTEE FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO THE ENGAGEMENT OF PARADE MARSHALS DURING THE MARTIN LUTHER KING PARADE ON JANUARY 21, 2002; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, to assure a safe environment for the participants and attendees at the Martin Luther King Parade on January 21, 2002, the services of individuals, who shall be trained by the Department of Police, to assist the Police Department is warranted; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to grant the Parade organizers funds in the amount of $5,000 to engage individuals to provide such parade marshal services; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: CITY COMMISSION JAN I - it'J2 R�rylution No. Section 1. The City Manager is authorized!' to grant: funds, in an amount not to exceed $5,000, to the Martin Luther. King Parade Committee for expenses related to the engagement of parade marshals during the Martin Luther King Parade on January 21, 2002, with funds allocated from the Special Events Account for said purpose.
