HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-12175J-01-1044 1/09/02 ORDINANCE NO. 12 17 '" AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE III, DIVISION 4, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "ADMINISTRATION, OFFICERS, CITY CLERK," TO ESTABLISH A FEE TO BE CHARGED FOR DUPLICATING COMPACT DISC VOICE RECORDINGS OF CITY COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 119.07, FLORIDA STATUTES; MORE PARTICULARLY BY AMENDING SECTION 2-142(c) OF SAID CODE; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Chapter 2, Article III, Division 4, of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, is further amended in the following particulars:!' 1' Words and/or figures stricken through shall be deleted. Underscored words and/or figures shall be added. The remaining provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged. Asterisks indicate omitted and unchanged material. "CHAPTER 2 ADMINISTRATION ARTICLE III. OFFICERS DIVISION 4. CITY CLERK Sec. 2-142. Fees for copies of ordinances and other records. (c) For the service of duplicating cassette tapes from original tapes used by the city clerk in the voice recording of city commission meetings, the city clerk shall collect a fee as provided in state law for such service, provided the person requesting such service furnishes his or her own cassette; if the city clerk furnishes the cassette, he shall collect a fee of $8.00. For the service of duplicating digital voice recordings in compact disc form of city commission proceedings, the city clerk shall collect a fee not greater than $15.00 to cover the costs associated with providing such service. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are repealed. Section 3. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected. Page 2 of 3 1217 Section 4. F em ENCLOSURES: y Clerk BACKGROUND On February 8, 2001, the Commission passed Resolution 01-117 approving the City Clerk's sole source request for acquisition of FTR Gold Multi -Channel Digital Recording System. An internal CD writer is one of the features for said system that allows for a duplication of compact discs. There is a demand from the public to obtain information from City Commission proceedings and purchase same, in compact disc form.
