New Overtown NET Administrator.

Mr. Gary E. Mason was appointed NET Administrator for the Overtown Neighborhood
Enhancement Team effective May 13, 2002, with the charge to improve the quality of service
delivered by the NET program in the Overtown area and to increase the level of energy and
commitment of that office to NET's stated goal of improving the quality of life in our City's
neighborhoods.
Mr. Mason, formerly Director of Housekeeping for Pro -Player Stadium, has had a distinguished
career of accomplishment in both the public and private sector. Mr. Mason was previously
employed by the Florida Department of Labor as a field auditor. Throughout his employment
with Pro -Player Stadium Mr. Mason's performance earned him numerous career advancement
opportunities culminating in his present position.
Mr. Mason has, in addition, obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from
Florida Atlantic University, which further recommends him for this challenging position.
We look forward to a reinvigorated performance by the Overtown NET Center and renewed
leadership by this program as this administration continues to strive towards the betterment of the
City of Miami.

• Manage cleaning operation at the 75 thousand seating arena Pro Player
Stadium, which hosted the 2001 NCAA Championship Game the 1999
Super Bowl, and is the home of the 1997 World Series Champion
Florida Marlins and The Miami Dolphins.
• Create and initiate administrative policies, procedures and guidelines
which enhance operational performance within the Department while
evaluating current policies and their impact on operations.
• Manage and develop yearly budget in excess of 1.4 million dollars by
reviewing operating expenditure reports and ensuring the Department
is operating within authorized budgetary parameters.
• Provide direction, guidance and counsel to management crew of three
assistants and twenty supervisors. Also ensure the management and
training of three hundred laborers.
• Responsible for managing various contracts involving products and
services provided to the Stadium. Also insure all contract stipulations
are rigidly followed.
• Maintain OSHA compliance within the Department.
• Conduct training sessions to orientate new employees to the rules
regulations, policies and procedures of the Department and Stadium.

• Assisted Manager in monitoring departmental budget in excess of
1.4 million dollars.
• Managed housekeeping staff and conducted performance reviews
for Department employees.
• Ordered and maintained supply inventory for department.
• Produced daily staffing and revenue expense reports.
Promoted to Manager in 1999 title change to Director in October
2001.
