A public hearing will be held by the City Commission of the City
of Miami, Florida on Thursday, June 13, 2002, at 10:30 a.m., in
the City Commission Chambers at City Hall, 3500 Pan
American Drive, Miami, Florida, for the purpose of presenting a
Strategic Redevelopment Plan for the Florida East Coast (FEC)
Railroad Corridor to serve as a guiding tool for the future rede-
velopment and preservation of the corridor. Following the pre-

sidered. Major implementation initiatives proposed in the plan
address transportation, streetscapes and open space, housing,
planning and zoning, historic preservation and conservation,
economic development, and funding.

Nueva ley para aumentar
el numero de enfermeras

TAMPA - En los ultimos seis anos, el numero de
enfermeras certificadas en la Florida ha bajado en
un diez por Ciento, dijo el Gobernador Jeb Bush al
firmar unas leyes que tienen el prop6sito de alentar
a las enfermeas y enfermeros de la Florida a con-
tinuar en la profesi6n y que tambien atraeran can-
didatos de otros Estados y territorios a venir al
"parafso", dijo el Gobernador.
Las leyes tambien proveen dinero para ayudar en
los estudios a generations mas j6venes que quieran
dedicarse a la enfermerfa. "Las enfermeras ponen
un sentido de humanidad en una Cosa que necesita
desesperadamente esa humanidad", le dijo el Go-
bernador Bush a un grupo de enfermeras, enfer-
meros, empleados de hospitales y funcionarios elec-
tor que se reunieron en el Centro Medico de
Veteranos James A. Haley.
En los pasados seis anos, la cantidad de enfer-
meras y enfermeros certificados de la Florida
ha bajado en un diez por Ciento, es decir, a 170,000,
segs n datos de la Asociacibn de Hospitales de
la Florida. En estos momentos hay 9,000 empleos
disponibles.

MPA amplia yenta de tarjetas
de estacionamientos
El Miami Parking Authority,
MPA, ,anunci6 que la tarjeta de
d6bito de estacionamiento para
parquimetros que land a la venta
el afro pasado estarA a la venta
en varios lugares adicionales y es-
tarA disponible al publico en cua-
tro denominaciones. En el mo -
mento de su lanamiento las
tarjetas estaban disponibles en
denominaciones de $15 y $25 y es-
taban a la venta s6lo a traves de
la oficina principal de MPA en el
centro de la ciudad de Miami y
en uno de los garajes de estacio-
namiento de MPA. A partir de
ahora las tarjetas estaran a la
venta en 14 lugares.
"Las tarjetas continuaran faci-
litando el estacionamiento y eli-
