Re: BLACK MINORITY TENANT AT BAYSIDE MARKET PLACE. /ANOTHER ONE
BEEN PUSHED OUT.
I respectfully request that an investigation of the conduct and the treatments of
blacks by the Rouse Company Management Team at Bayside Market Place bee
conducted by the commissioners.
I have to go before a judge at 2.30 PM today to face yet another eviction attempt by
the Rouse Co.
I am been evicted in order that my two spaces at Bayside be sold to a none black
tenant in order that the goals of the Rouse Company be achieved. The goal of the
total elimination of the original (24) twenty four black tenant, that were gRart o the
participation goals when the Rouse Company received 97milloin dollars of
federal grant money to build Bayside Market Place.
The city has a new mayor and new commissioners who are unaware of the treatment
of blacks at Bayside Market Place.
BLACK ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IS THROWN AROUND A LOT IN
MANY SPEECHES BY OUR LEADERS AND BY OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS.
As the original tenant at Bayside, I have witness one after another black tenant
pushed out and replaced by large corporation from Columbia or individuals from
outside of Miami.
I have been contributing to this community by providing jobs to the youths and
young families, paying taxes (my first year of business from Bayside T-shirt I
paid the state $58.000,00) for over (25) twenty-five years. I have endured a lot at
Bayside, have sustain Hugh losses included my fathers home and because I refused
to give Mr. Tercilla power of attorney to sell my stores for me, Rouse is choosing to
evict me. How can this be justified under the City of Miami minority Program?

I am requesting that on behalf of all the blacks who have trusted the city and county
leaders and have invested all their life savings and their family life savings that the
documents be amended to read as follows: That the elimination of any black
businesses at Bayside Market Place be replaced by another viable black
business. (Not one set up to fail) The commission should also have an independent
firm/ board etc, to monitor the Rouse Company treatment of willful intent to put
blacks out of business. There needs to be some form of check and balance of their
unscrupulous behaviors.
I trust that my plea for help and some form of justice will not fall on deft ear. I am
hopeful that every effort will be made (putting politics aside) to put languages into
the documents to protect future generations from unfair business practices by the
Rouse Company.
I will continue to push forward with my honorable source of livelihood, my hands
and my integrity.
Thank you for taking the time to read and address my concerns.
