Ms. Lila Wadhwani
Legislative Counselor
Office of Commissioner Johnny Winton
3500 Pan American Drive
Miami, FL 33133
Dear Ms. Wadhwani:
Care Resource is requesting permission to display street pole banners in the City of Miami prior to
our le annual AIDS WALK Miami -- Run, Walk, Blade for the Cure f4ndmising event.
The AIDS WALK on April 21, 2002 is one of Care Resource's annual fundraisers that allows our
agency, which is the largest HIV/AIDS service organization in Florida, to fund medical services
and prevention/awareness programs to those affected by HIV/AIDS in our community. Last year
Care Resource provided over 37,000 individual services — free of charge — to men, women and
children in Miami/Dade and Broward Counties. Care Resource is proud of the fact that 86% of
the funds we raise go directly back into the services and programs we provide for our community.
We would like to place approximately ten street pole banners, which will be produced by AAA
Flag and Banners, promoting the AIDS WALK fundraiser for 30 days beginning in mid March in
the vicinity of North and South sides South Dixie highway on 17'1, 27s` Avenues & the entrance of
95 as well as Biscayne Boulevard on 36`s, 69h and 72nd Avenues.
The banner which, is tastefully done in Art Deco colors contains a graphic design depicting three
people who are either running, walking or roller-blading as well verbiage regarding the dates and
location of the event.
Care Resource is working hard to make this year's AIDS WALK Miami — Run, Walk Blade for
the Cure fundraising event a success on all levels, so we can continue our much needed HIV/AIDS
programs and services for the community.
We thank you for Commissioner Winton's support in this effort.
Sincerely,
Dennis Longo
