RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION
AMENDING RESOLUTION 02-965, ADOPTED
SEPTEMBER 11, 2002, WHICH REESTABLISHED AND
RECREATED THE COMMUNITY TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY
BOARD TO EXTEND THE SUNSET DATE OF THE
ADVISORY BOARD FROM SEPTEMBER 10, 2003 TO
SEPTEMBER 9, 2004.
WHEREAS, the Community Technology Advisory Board ("Advisory
Board") has been working diligently toward its goal to present
the City Commission with a viable program to equip City parks
with educational, technological, and recreational resources to
provide Information Technology opportunities to inner -City
residents; and
WHEREAS, the Advisory Board requires additional time before
it is ready to present its recommendations to the City
Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Advisory Board has requested that its
scheduled sunset date be extended for one year of the mandated
sunset date, from September 10, 2003 to September 9, 2004,
required by Resolution No. 02-965, adopted September 11, 2002,
which reestablished and recreated the Advisory Board;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Resolution No. 02-965, adopted September 11,
2002, is amended in the following particulars:11

Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.21

If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become
effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was
passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it
shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by
the City Commission.

The Community Technology Advisory Board ("Advisory Board') has been working
diligently toward its goal to present the City Commission with a viable program to equip City
parks with educational, technological, and recreational resources to provide Information
Technology opportunities to inner -City residents; however, the Advisory Board requires
additional time before it is ready to present its recommendations to the City Commission.
The attached resolution, drafted at the request of the Advisory Board, grants the
Advisory Board a one year extension of the mandated sunset date, from September 10, 2003 to
September 9, 2004, required by Resolution No. 02-965, adopted September 11, 2002, which
reestablished and recreated the Advisory Board.
