RESOLUTION NO. 03- 754
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION,
WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE USE
AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED
FORM, BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND
INTERFOREVER SPORTS, INC., TO EXTEND THE
TERM OF THE EXISTING AGREEMENT FROM DECEMBER
2003 TO DECEMBER 2005; AND TO REQUIRE A
MINIMUM OF TWELVE GAMES TO BE PLAYED AT THE
ORANGE BOWL STADIUM DURING THE AGREED TERM.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami entered into a Use Agreement
("Agreement") with Interforever Sports Inc. on December 14,
2001, to present a maximum of twelve games at the Orange Bowl
Stadium during a two-year period; and
WHEREAS, Interforever Sports, Inc. is one of the largest
international soccer promoters, which has hosted various
international professional games at the Orange Bowl Stadium
including the Gold Cup Soccer Tournaments; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Conferences and Conventions and
Public Facilities ("Department") recommends amending the
Agreement to extend the use period from December 2003 to
December 2005 to provide the community with quality professional
soccer games; and
WHEREAS, the Department further recommends amending the
Agreement to require a minimum of twelve soccer games to be
played through the term of the Agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized!' to execute
the Amendment to the Use Agreement, in substantially the
attached form, between the City and Interforever, Sports Inc. to
extend the term of the Agreement, from December 2003 to December
2005, with a minimum of twelve games required to be played at
the Orange Bowl Stadium during the agreed Term.
1� The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all
requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but
not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.

Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.zl

effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was
passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it
shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by
the City Commission.

Recommendation:
It is respectfiiliy recommended the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution amending
the Agreement between the City of Miami and Interforever Sports, Inc. to extend the term
through December 2005 and authorize a minimum of 12 games during the Term.
Background:
On December 14, 2001 the City, of Miami entered into a Use Agreement with Interforever
Sports, Inc. to present a maximum of twelve (12) soccer games at the Orange Bowl Stadium
during a period of two years. Interforever Sports, Inc. is one of the largest international soccer
promoters, which has hosted various international professional soccer games at the Orange
Bowl Stadium including the Gold Cup Soccer Tournaments. The Department of Conferences,
Conventions & Public Facilities recommends the Agreement be amended to extend the use
period through December 2005 in order to provide the community with quality professional
soccer games. Further, to amend the Agreement to require a minimum of twelve (12) soccer
games be played through the term of the Agreement.
The estimated net revenues to the City from this Agreement is in excess of $800,000 for the
two year period which includes revenues derived from the Use Fee, Ticket Surcharge,
Concessions, and Parking.
The events are expected to generate an economic impact to our community resulting from
international travel, hotel occupancy, restaurants and other commerce.
