City Clerk ENCLOSURES: List of Members, Resolution
The Code Enforcement Board was created to issue orders having the force of law commanding
whatever steps are necessary to bring a Code violation into compliance.
Florida Statutes Section 162.05(2) requires members of the Code Enforcement Board to be
residents of the City of Miami. City Code Section 2-812 states that whenever possible, the
board is to consist of an architect, a businessperson, an engineer, a general contractor, a
subcontractor, and a realtor. Pursuant to Florida Statutes Section 162(3)(b), all members serve
three year terms.
Pursuant to City Code Sec. 2-886(a), any board member shall be automatically removed if, in a
given calendar year: (1) he/she is absent from three consecutive meetings; or (2) He/she is absent
from four of the board's meetings. The provisions of this section may be waived by a four-fifths
vote of the members of the full city commission.
Two appointments are needed at this time:
• *Chairman Winton has one nomination for regular seat currently held by Michael
Gongora whose terms expired on February 10, 2003.
• The Commission At -Large has one appointment for alternate seat currently held by
Zenia Corral who has exceeded the number of absences allowed per City Code and whose
seat has been declared vacant by the members of the Code Enforcement Board.
For your convenience, we have included a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy
of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the June 12, 2003
Commission agenda. *This matter was deferred from the March 27, 2003 Commission meeting.

I don't know when I will have a chance to go thru this folder with the on-going legislation, interruptions, fires, emergencies,
filing.............I guess I will have to try to put in some more overtime, even though its not appreciated!
