HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-03-0594J-03-465 05/15/03 RESOLUTION NO. 03- 594 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO SEEK AND INITIATE ANY AND ALL APPROPRIATE ACTIONS IN LAW OR IN EQUITY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY ACTION BEFORE ADMINISTRATIVE FORUMS TO EVICT ANY AND ALL OCCUPANTS OF THE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED AT APPROXIMATELY 400-430 SOUTHWEST 8TH AVENUE, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AND TO RECOVER ANY OUTSTANDING OR UNPAID CHARGES OR AMOUNTS DUE TO THE CITY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Attorney is authorized!' to seek and initiate any and all appropriate actions in law or in equity, including without limitation, any action before administrative forums to evict any and all occupants of the City -owned property located at approximately 400-430 Southwest 8th Avenue, Miami, Florida, and to recover any outstanding or unpaid charges or amounts due to the City. ii The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. BACKGROUND: The City currently owns a parcel of land located at 400-30 SW 8 Avenue. This property was conveyed to the City as a result of the dissolution of Miami Capital and certain tenants remain in place. By separate resolution, the administration is requesting the City Commission surplus this property and authorize the City Manager to sell same subject to City Commission approval of the negotiated purchase and sale agreement.
