A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION,
WITH ATTACHMENT(S), BY A FOUR-FIFTHS (4/STxs)
AFFIRMATIVE VOTE, RATIFYING, APPROVING AND
CONFIRMING THE CITY MANAGER'S FINDINGS OF AN
EMERGENCY(S), WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR
COMPETITIVE SEALED BIDDING PROCEDURES AS
DESCRIBED ON THE EXHIBITS) ATTACHED AND
INCORPORATED; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE
BUDGETS OF VARIOUS USER DEPARTMENT ACCOUNTS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. By a four-fifths (4/5th,) affirmative vote,
the City Manager's findings of an emergency(s), waiving the
requirements for competitive sealed bidding procedures as
described on the exhibit(s) attached are ratified, approved and
confirmed, with funds allocated from the budgets of various user
department accounts.

Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.11

In accomance with Miami Code Sec. 2-36, since the Mayor did not indicate approval of
this legislation by signing in the designated place provided, said leci lation now

This memorandum serves to request your authorization to increase the amount for Public works Job
No. &6417 for emergency repairs and renovations to the bathroom facilities at Dinner Key Mnina.
Thu onginal estimate for this project was $80.000 to bring the h0ilities into compliance with ADA
requirements, replace tiles and repair plumbing, electrical sad vantilation systems (please see
attached memo). The Department of public Works has advised that an increase in the amount of
515.000 is required to complete the project. This will include replacement of existing light fixtures
with vandal resistant fixtures, replacement of bathroom entrance doors, installation of a retractable
awning above the entrance door, and instalWon of a new air conditioning system for both
bathrooms.
Funding in the amount of 515,000 is available froth CIP Project 326009.
Please indicate your approval for this increase by signing below.

The original estimate for this project w$ 95,000. However the actual bid received was
$122,000. The Department of is recommending an increase of the original
estimate by $35,000, for a total amount of $130,000. This amount would provide the
$27,000 needed to bring the total to the actual bid amount, with an additional $8000.00
provided for unforeseen conditions. '
This price would include the replacement of existing light fixtures with vandal resistant
fixtures, replacement of bathroom entrance doors, installation of a retractable awning above
the entrance door, and installation of a new air conditioning system for both bathrooms.
Funding in the amount of $35,000 is available from CIP Project 326009. IX
