BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. A grant, in an amount of $30,000 is authorized for purposes of marketing the Miss Black USA Pageant, organized by the Miss Black USA Organization Inc., to be held on August 23, 2003, at the Renaissance Miami Biscayne Bay Hotel, Miami, Florida, with funds allocated from Account Code No. 001000921054.289, entitled "Special Events" for said purpose. Evaluation and survey tools will consist of collaborations with the Miami Convention and Visitor's Bureau's, establishment of alliances with the Hotel and Motel Association, relationships within the media, political, community and grassroots organizational sectors. How was this information determined? 50 million viewers will be reached through television syndication. Current syndication committments include MBC Network and PAX. An additional 20 million radio listeners will be reached via live remote radio broadcast by Radioscope. This information was determined through the distribution data provided by PAX, MBC, and RadioScope. (39) How many hotel room nigbft do you anticipate using during this project? How did you arrive at this figure? How does this figure compare to the actual number of hotel room nights used by this event last year? (Please attach copies of letters of agreement from hoteWmotels to this application. This attachment will not count towards the 3 allowable documents). 1100 room nights have been blocked at the Biscayne Bay Miami Hotel. There was no event in 2002 and this is the first year for the event under new administration. The plan will be used to develop a turnkey, ongoing marketing and public relations campaign for the Miss Black USA competition as a premiere African American educational and talent event in the community.
