BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The bid received from Security Enforcement Protective Agency, to provide Citywide Security Guard Services, for the Department of Police, on an as -needed contract basis, for an initial period of one year with the option to renew for three additional one-year periods, is accepted, with funds allocated from the Police General Operating Budget, subject to budgetary approval. Page 2 of 2 03- 413 TO FROM CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM The Honorabled Member 01 City Cor bissioni J Arriola ie Administrator/City Manager RECOMMENDATION CA -1 DATE : APR 2 4 2003 SUBJECT: Authorizing the provision of Security Guard Services - Citywide; Bid No. 01-02-271 REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: FILE: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution accepting the bid of Security Enforcement Protective Agency, a Hispanic/Dade-County vendor, located at 13418 S.W. 128 Street, Miami, FL 33186, for the provision of Security Guard Services, for a period of one year (1) with the option to renew for three (3) additional one-year periods, to be utilized citywide on an as needed contract basis. Allocating funds therefor from the Police General Operating Budget, authorizing said purchases as needed, subject to the availability of funds. BACKGROUND The City provides unarmed Security Guard Services at various locations within the City of Miami. The selected vendor shall provide security guards 24 hours per day, seven days a week, including holidays. The number of guards and times of shifts shall be determined by the City. The vendor shall perform the work as specified in Bid No. 01-02-271, and shall do additional, extra and incidental work as may be considered necessary from time to time to complete the work in a satisfactory manner. The City reserves the right to increase and decrease the level of services, as it deems necessary. The selected vendor shall provide to the City a full range of security services, including, but not limited to, protection and security to the best of its ability against vandalism, trespass and theft of property on or from City premises. Vendor shall instruct and require its security guards to perform the services specified in the bid in an orderly and efficient manner while enforcing the regulations of the City with regard to safety and facility security, and to accomplish these specified services in such a manner as not to interfere with the normal conduct of the City's business. The Department of Police has analyzed the bids received pursuant to Bid No. 01-02-271. Security Enforcement Protective Agency, submitted the lowest responsible and responsive bid and is, therefore, recommended for the award.
