BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Thompson REFERENCES : List of Members, Resolution City Clerk ENCLOSURES: t The Code Enforcement Board was created to issue orders having the force of law commanding whatever steps are necessary to bring a Code violation into compliance. Florida Statutes Section 162.05(2) requires members of the Code Enforcement Board to be residents of the City of Miami. City Code Section 2-812 states that whenever possible, the board is to consist of an architect, a businessperson, an engineer, a general contractor, a subcontractor, and a realtor. Pursuant to Florida Statutes Section 162(3)(b), all members serve three year terms. Pursuant to City Code Sec. 2-886(a), any board member shall be automatically removed if, in a given calendar year: (1) he/she is absent from three consecutive meetings; or (2) He/she is absent from four of the board's meetings. The provisions of this section may be waived by a four-fifths vote of the members of the full city commission. Four appointments are needed at this time for members whose terms expired on February 10, 2003: • Commissioner Regalado has one nomination for seat currently held by Ney Denis Rod, who has exceeded the number of absences allowed per City Code. • Vice Chairman Teele has one nomination for seat currently held by James Keane. • Chairman Winton has one nomination for seat currently held by Michael Gongora. • The Commission At -Large has one appointment for seat currently held by Charles McEwan. For your convenience, we have included a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the March 13, 2003 Commission agenda.
