A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION,
WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE CONVEYANCE OF
APPROXIMATELY 4,769.10 SQUARE FEET OF
COUNTY -OWNED PROPERTY, LOCATED AT
362 NORTHWEST 11TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS
MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN "EXHIBIT A,"
ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, TO THE CITY BY
COUNTY DEED, FOR THE EXPANSION AND
ENHANCEMENT ATHALIE RANGE PARK, CURRENTLY
MANAGED BY THE CITY; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY
ATTORNEY, TO ACCEPT CONVEYANCE OF THE
PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, pursuant to City Commission direction, on July 25,
2001, the City of Miami ("City") requested that Miami -Dade County
("County") deed to the City, at no cost, the County -owned
property located at 362 Northwest 11th Street, Miami, Florida
("Site"); and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to acquire this site to expand and
enhance Athalie Range Park, currently managed by the City; and

WHEREAS, on February 26, 2002, the Miami -Dade County Board
of County Commission, passed and adopted Resolution No. R-172-02,
which authorized the conveyance of this parcel of land to the
City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorizedll to accept
the conveyance of approximately 4,769.10 square feet of
County -owned property, located at 362 Northwest 11th Street,
Miami, Florida, as more particularly described in "Exhibit A,"
attached and incorporated, to the City by County Deed, to expand
and enhance Athalie Range Park, currently managed by the City.
1� The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with
all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney,
including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.

Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized) to
execute all necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City
Attorney, to accept conveyance of the property.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor Y

It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution
authorizing the City Manager to accept the conveyance of approximately 4,769.10 square
feet of County -owned land located at 362 NW 11 Street, Miami, Florida, as more
particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, by County
Deed to the City of Miami.
BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to City Commission direction, on July 25, 2001 the City of Miami requested that
Miami -Dade County deed to it, at no cost, the County -owned property located at 362 N.W.
11 Street, Miami, Florida. The City requested this site for the purpose of expanding and
enhancing Range Park #1, located beneath I-95, which the City of Miami currently
manages. Miami -Dade County Board of County Commission passed and adopted
Resolution No. R-172-02 authorizing the conveyance of 4,769.10 square feet of County -
owned land located at 362 N.W. 11 Street to the City of Miami.
Subsequent to the County Commission's approval, the Office of Asset Management
obtained a survey and conducted environmental studies, which indicated the property was
free and clear of any environmental conditions.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no financial impact for the acquisition; however, there will be minimal
ongoing cost for its maintenance.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
public hearing will be held by the City Commission of the City of Miami, Florida on
February 13, 2003 at 9:00 AM at The Manuel Artime Theater, 900 S.W. 15` Street,
Miami, Florida, for the purpose of authorizing the City Manager to accept the
conveyance of approximately 4,769. 10 square feet of County -owned land located at 362
NW 11 Street, Miami, -Florida, for the purpose of expanding and enhancing Range Park
#1.
All interested persons are invited to appear and may be heard concerning the above.
Should any person desire to appeal any decision of the City Commission with respect to

Dear Commissioner:
This letter serves as the Miami River Commission's (MRC) "official
statement" to the City Commission, requested in City Resolution 00-
320, regarding February 13, 2003 City Commission agenda item 5,
which impacts the Miami River corridor.
The MRC recommends the proposed acceptance of county—owned
property, within the Miami River Corridor Urban Infill boundary, at
362 NW 1 Vh Street, for the expansion and enhancement of Athalie
Range Park in Overtown. The MRC's recommendation is pursuant to
principles of our adopted strategic plan, The Miami River Corridor
Urban Infill Plan, specifically, "Provide additional greenspace where
feasible within the Urban Infill boundary".
