BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The bid of Roofing Concepts Unlimited/Florida, Inc., to furnish and install specified roofing and related components for the Department of Municipal Services to repair various roofing sections of the Miami Riverside Center Building and Parking Garage, is accepted, in an amount not to exceed $51,850, plus a contingency reserve in the amount of $5,185, for a total contract amount not to exceed $57,035, with funds allocated from Capital Improvement Project No. 311042.429301.6.830. Dixie Highway East, Pompano Beach, Florida 33060 for the furnishing and installation of specified roofing and related components to the various roofing sections of the Miami Riverside Center Building and Parking Garage for the Department of Municipal Services in an amount not to exceed $51,850 (FY03'), plus a contingency reserve in the amount of $5,185 (see attached memo) for a total amount of $57,035. Funding is allocated from Capital Improvement Program, Project No. 311042.429301.6.830. BACKGROUND: The Department of Municipal Services has analyzed the bids received pursuant to Bid No. 01-02- 254. The bid from Roofing Concepts Unlimited/Florida Inc. was deemed the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, meeting specifications. The Department of Municipal Services has found the need to famish and install specified roofing and related components at the Miami Riverside Center Building and Parking Garage. Various sections require repair at this time in order to correct the existing leaks existing at this time. The size of the roof is 23,000 square feet and the actual replacement cost is $10.00 per square feet. The roof system of the Miami Riverside Center Building and Parking Garage require that repairs be made as soon as possible since this will extend the lifetime of the MRC Building and Parking Garage by approximately 10 years.
