HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-03-0075J-03-76 1/8/03 RESOLUTION NO. 03"' 07*5 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO NEGOTIATE, AT THE DIRECTION OF THE CITY MANAGER, THE PURCHASE OF PROPERTY FOR THE LAND ACQUISITION PROGRAM FOR THE LITTLE HAITI PARK PROJECT, TO BE ACHIEVED SOLELY THROUGH THE VOLUNTARY SALE OF PROPERTIES TO THE CITY; FURTHER DIRECTING THAT ALL PURCHASES AND ACQUISITIONS OF PROPERTY SHALL COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 166.045 FLORIDA STATUTES, RELATED TO THE ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY BY MUNICIPALITIES AND CHAPTER 723, FLORIDA STATUTES, RELATED TO THE RELOCATION OF RESIDENTS OF MOBILE HOME PARKS; AND DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO USE ALL RESOURCES AVAILABLE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY ATTORNEY, INCLUDING THE RETENTION OF SPECIAL COUNSEL AND EXPERT CONSULTANTS IF NECESSARY AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CITY ATTORNEY, AND SOLICITING THE PARTICIPATION OF THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF JAN 0 9 2903 Resolution No. 03- 075 property for the Land Acquisition Program for the Little Haiti Park Project, to be achieved solely through the voluntary sale of properties to the City and that all purchases and acquisitions of property shall comply with the provisions of Section 166.045, Florida Statutes, related to the acquisition of real property by municipalities and Chapter 723, Florida Statutes, related to the relocation of residents of mobile home parks. Section 2. The City Attorney is directed to use all resources available in the Office of the City Attorney, including the retention of special counsel and expert consultants if necessary at the discretion of the City Attorney, and soliciting the participation of the Florida Department of Transportation. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor Y If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
