mg tips to be helpful ana woula like to snare
them with you:
+ Start picking up extra non-perishable
and canned foods, bottled water, batteries and
any other products from your local supermar-
ket. This will help you avoid the long, frus-
trating lines. For those of you with children, be
sure to have diapers, formula, food and medi-
cine.
+ Discuss the types of hazards that could
affect your family now so that you are not
caught off guard. Know your home's vulnera-
bility to storm surge, flooding and wind.
+ Check your insurance policy to ensure
it includes replacement coverage.
+ Keep important documents such as
lease/mortgage and insurance information in a
waterproof container.

registro de Seguro Social no podra
ser actualizado, y ella no redbird

Otra ra76n muy buena para ase-

Enrique es una persona de 20
anos que virtualmente vive en el
Internet. El encontr6 su trabajo
y apartamento en Ifnea, usa un
servicio de citas en linea, y com-
pr6 su carro de un sitio muy po-
pular en el Internet. Nuestro
mensaje a Enrique y a otros co -
mo 61, es que protejan su numero
de Seguro Social. Aunque mu-
chos negocios piden el numero
de Seguro Social como parte de
su sistema de registro, no hay
una ley que requiera que Enrique
to someta. (S610 hay unos cuan-
tos usos oficiales autorizados pa-
ra el use del numero de Seguro
Social que requiere que to pro-
vea, tal como cuando paga im-
puestos o solicita beneficios del
gobierno). Asi que si el servicio
de citas no conecta a Enrique con
una "MSH (Mujer soltera hispa-
na) muy atractiva que le guste
tomar paseos romanticos en la
playa" a menos que 61 provea su
numero de Seguro Social, enton-
ces Enrique tendra que decidir
si vale la pena tomar el riesgo.
Finalmente, hay un mensaje
para Ernesto, que es un poco ma-
yor que los otros que he men-
cionado. De hecho, Ernesto pien-
sa jubilarse pronto. Nuestro
mensaje es "piense en linea". El
sitio de Internet del Seguro So-
cial www.segurosocial.gov/es-
panol tiene mucha informaci6n
que Ernesto encontrarA muy
util. Hay conexiones a publica-
ciones que explican los benefi-
cios de jubilaci6n del Seguro So-
cial. Hay una calculadora de
beneficios que puede usar para
obtener un estimado correcto y
personalizado de sus posibles be-
neficios. Ademas, cuando 61 est6
listo para solicitar Seguro Social,
tambi6n puede hacerlo en linea.
