A LOS NINOS
En la Ciudad de Santa Clara,
Cuba, se ha construido un
"Parque Infantil" que fue
inaugurado el pasado 30 de
diciembre.
Lo insolito es que los
ninos cubanos no pueden
entrar al mismo porque la
entrada cuesta en dolares
3.50 y el salario promediio
mensual es de solamente
$5.00.
Si la familai tiene ayuda
del exilio, los dolares que
recibe los necesita para
adquirir alimentos y no
' pueden gastar $3.50 (equi-
valentes a 94 pesos castris-
tas) en entrar al parque!

La idea ha causado gran resen-

que temen perder clientes fuma-

Los restaurantes quieren que se

La enmienda prohfbe fumar en
las salas de jugar bingo y en sa-
lones de veteranos; a ilegaliza las
zonas designadas para fumar en
los aeropuertos y restaurantes.
Por ejemplo, el Aeropuerto de
Tampa quiere conservar sus siete
salones de fumar y envi6 a su ase -
sora general Gigi Skipper a Ta-
llahassee a defender sus deseos.
Skipper les dijo a los senadores
que la conveniencia y seguridad
de los pasajeros estan en la ba-
lanza. Con algunos welos demo-
rados que obligan a los pasajeros
a esperar hasta tres horas entre
vuelos, ella tree que incidentes de
"furia aerea" podrfan aumentar si
los fumadores no puedan fumar
antes de entrar en el avi6n.
Algunos senadores considera-
ron esto increfble: %Que es esen-
cial acerea de un salon de fumar?
Pregunt6 la Senadora Debbie
Wasserman Schultz, dem6crata
por Pembroke Pines.
Por su parte, la industria de ta-
bacos, la cual ha presentado una
demanda para bloquear la En-
mienda 6, alega que la ley aca-
barfa con la industria al prohibir
fusiar en lugares de trabajo. Las
fabricas de tabaco tienen que pro -
bar sus productos igual que los fa-
bricantes de vinos prueban sus
productos.
Dick Giese, de Lakeland, coman-
dante estatal de los Veteranos
Americanos con Impedimentos,
recomendd a los legisladores que
no prohibieran fumar en los sa-
