AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
("CDBG") FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $636,868.00 IN THE ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT CATEGORY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION TO BE USED FOR PARK IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES, AS
DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID
PURPOSE.
Background of Item:
On November 17, 2022, pursuant to Resolution No. the City Commission
approved the transfer of CDBG Economic Development funds for fiscal year 2022-23 to
the Department of Real Estate and Asset Management, in the amount of $454,107.00,
with an amount of $1,892,654.00 allocated to the Department of Housing and
Community Development for future allocation.
There is a need to reallocate a portion of the CDBG Economic Development funds to
the Department of Parks and Recreation to be used for park improvement activities.
The City's Administration recommends the allocation of CDBG funds in the total amount
of $636,868.00 from fiscal year 2022-23 in the economic development category, to the
Department of Parks and Recreation to be used for park improvement activities, as
described in the Exhibit "A" attached and incorporated.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $636,868.00 IN THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
CATEGORY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION TO BE USED
FOR ELIGIBLE PARK IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES, AS DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A",
ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM
ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, on November 17, 2022, pursuant to Resolution No. 22-0446, the City
Commission approved the transfer of Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG")
Economic Development funds for Fiscal Year (TY") 2022-23 to the Department of Real Estate
and Asset Management, in the amount of $454,107.00, with an amount of $1,892,654.00
allocated to the Department of Housing and Community Development for future allocation; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to reallocate a portion of the CDBG Economic Development
funds to the Department of Parks and Recreation ("Parks") to be used for eligible park
improvement activities; and
WHEREAS, the City's Administration recommends the allocation of CDBG funds, in the
total amount of $636,868.00 for FY 2022-23, in the Economic Development category, to Parks
to be used for eligible park improvement activities, as described in the Exhibit "A", attached and
incorporated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The transfer of CDBG funds in the Economic Development category in the
total amount of $636,868.00 to Parks to be used for eligible park improvement activities, as
described in Exhibit "A", attached and incorporated, is authorized.'
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all
necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose.
' The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be
imposed, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.2

Z If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
