WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") Department of Fire -Rescue's ("Fire") Florida Task Force II Urban Search and Rescue ("USAR") team has been awarded a reimbursement grant in the amount of $1,043,918.38 ("Grant") from the State of Florida, Division of Emergency Management ("FDEM") for the purpose of sustaining and enhancing USAR team capabilities; and WHEREAS, the Grant consists of $708,918.38 to be utilized for the purchase of approved vehicles and $335,000.00 to be utilized for the purchase of approved equipment for the period beginning July 1, 2022, and ending June 30, 2023; and WHEREAS, there are no matching City funds required; and WHEREAS, Fire intends to enhance Florida Task Force II USAR capabilities through the purchase of various vehicles and equipment that have been approved by FDEM; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Commission authorize the City Manager to accept the Grant, establish a Special Revenue Account, and further authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute any and all necessary documents, including amendments, renewals, and extensions, all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, in order to implement the acceptance and compliance with said Grant; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to accept the Grant in the amount of $1,043,918.38 from FDEM. Section 3. The following Special Revenue Project is established, and resources are appropriated as described below: FUND TITLE: "Urban Search and Rescue Grant — T0227" RESOURCES: FDEM Grant Funding $1,043,918.38 APPROPRIATIONS: $1,043,918.38 Section 4. The City Manager is further authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all necessary documents, including amendments, renewals, and extensions, all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, in order to implement the acceptance and compliance with the Grant. Section 5. Z If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
