Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend today's CRA meeting as I am out of town. However, I

wanted to communicate my full support for Camillus House, both in the current year's budget

allocation and next year's budget.

Homelessness is a problem in all areas of Miami, but in particular impacts residents and
businesses in both Overtown and Downtown. As you know, the City and the CRAs work closely
with community partners to address this complex issue from as many angles as possible.
Camillus House has been a stellar partner, providing a critical tool in the network of services we
use to combat the problem in both the short and long term. Approving the allocation today will
allow Camillus House to keep open the full complement of beds it offers for referrals from our
Police Department as well as other partners.
