HomeMy WebLinkAboutCRA-R-21-0048Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency Legislation CRA Resolution: CRA-R-21-0048 File Number: 10971 Final Action Date:10/28/2021 A RESOLUTION THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("SEOPW CRA") AUTHORIZING AN EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $150,000.00, BY THE SEOPW CRA FOR A LIMITED SCOPE OF IMPROVEMENTS TO SEOPW CRA-OWNED PROPERTY, LOCATED AT 155 NW 10TH STREET,; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE, ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO DISBURSE FUNDS, AT HIS DISCRETION, ON A REIMBURSEMENT BASIS OR DIRECTLY TO VENDORS, UPON PRESENTATION OF INVOICES AND SATISFACTORY DOCUMENTATION; FUNDS ALLOCATED FROM SEOPW, "OTHER CONTRACTUAL SERVICES," ACCOUNT CODE NO. 10050.920101.534000.0000.00000. WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency ("SEOPW CRA") is a community redevelopment agency created pursuant to Chapter 163, Florida Statutes, and is responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects within its Redevelopment Area in accordance with the 2018 Southeast Overtown/Park West Redevelopment Updated Plan ("Updated Plan"); and WHEREAS, the SEOPW CRA owns property, located at 155 NW 10th Street, (the "Property"); and WHEREAS, the Property is a 9-unit apartment building that provides housing for low- income residents within the Redevelopment Area and is in need of improvements; and WHEREAS, specifically, the following items will be addressed in all 9 units: Installation of new appliances • Replacement of kitchen sink and faucet • Installation of new flooring • Installation of new baseboards • Interior painting • Complete bathroom renovation • A/C servicing/coil cleaning • Installation of new window blinds • Replacement of existing non -compliant walkway and stair railings; and WHEREAS, Section 2, Goal 6 at page 10, of the Updated Plan lists "[i]mproving quality of life for residents" as a stated redevelopment goal; and City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File ID: 10971 (Revision:) Printed On: 1212012021 File ID: 10971 Enactment Number: CRA-R-21-0048 WHEREAS, Section 2, Principle 2, at page 13 of the Updated Plan lists "the neighborhood must retain access to affordable housing" as a stated redevelopment principle; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners wishes to ratify the SEOPW CRA's expenditure of funds, in an amount not to exceed $150,000.00, for a limited scope of improvements to SEOPW CRA-owned property, located at 155 NW 10t" Street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Board of Commissioners hereby ratifies the expenditure of funds, in an amount not to exceed $150,000.00, by the SEOPW CRA for a limited scope of improvements to SEOPW CRA-owned property, located at 155 NW 10t" Street. Section 3. Funds allocated from SEOPW Tax increment Fund, "Other Contractual Services," Account Code No. 10050.920101.534.0000.00000. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
