HomeMy WebLinkAboutSEOPW-CRA-R-03-0011SEOPW/CRA ITEM 7 RESOLUTION NO.0 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("CRA") AUTHORIZING THE INCLUSION OF NATIONWIDE RETIREMENT SOLUTIONS AS AN OPTIONAL 457 DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLAN PROVIDER FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE AGENCY. WHEREAS, the Board of the Directors acknowledges that the employees of the Agency are rendering valuable services; and WHEREAS, the establishment of an additional 457 Deferred Compensation Plan Provider for the benefit of those employed by the Agency allows for the broadening of employees individual retirement options. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. That Board of Directors herewith authorizes the inclusion of Nationwide Retirement Solutions as an optional SEOPW/CI A 03- 11� 0 • 457 Deferred Compensation Plan provider for employees of the Agency. Rollason References: CRA Executive Director Enclosures: Resolution RECOMMENDATION It is respectfully recommended that the CRA Board of Directors authorize the inclusion of Nationwide Retirement Solutions as an optional 457 Deferred Compensation Plan provider -to persons employed by the Agency. VJ/ l V WHEREAS, the COUNTY will assist the CRA in } l� carrying out the PROTECT by developing and financing the catalytic project, the Performing Arts Center, utilizing, in part, tax 9 increment revenues as described in the Plan; and V-11-MREAS, the COUNTY and the CRA desire to provide the manner in which the COUNTY shall have overall responsibilities for the Performing Arts Center, and the CRA shall have overall responsibilities for the remainder of the PROJECT; NOW, THEREFORE, the COUN-TY and the. CRA agree as follows: I. CRA AND COUNTY RESpO NSIBILITIES A. Tho COLNTY shall have the sole right and responsibility for planning, surveys, land acquisition, construction management, and all other community redevelopment undertakings, .. activities, or projects and related activities as defined in Chapter 163, Florida Statutes, relating to the Performing Arts Center as shown in the Plan. The COUNTY shall have the right to ensure that the CRA is complying with the South Florida Building Code in all development activities of the PROJECT. i Emxpt as otherwise specifically included herein, the CRA shall not have any rights or responsibilities in connection with the development or construction of the: Perfornvnge Arts Center. B. The County Manager shall designate County Project Coordinators who shall be Primarily responsible for carrying out all aspects of the PROJECT relating to the Performing Arts Center, and -specifically those aspects specified in paragraph I.A. The CRA shall designate a CRA Project Coordinator, who shall be primarily Y responsible for Ong out all aspects of the PROJECT other than those relating to the Performing Arts Center, The CRA Project Coordinator will provide annual reports to the COUNTY of any CRA activity associated with all such aspects of the PRQjBC-l'. D. Spccifcally, the CRA Project Coordinator will be responsible for: implementing the Plan, other than the Performing Arts Center; developing proposals for financing the PROJECT, other than the Performing Arts Center; coordination of relocation activities; and coordination of the design and construction of public improvements necessary to support any CRA administered redevelopment activity implementing. the Plan (wliir` :all exclude any redevelopment activity t elating to the Performing Arts Center), n• PROJECT ACTIVITIES A• Land Disposition l • With the exception of any activity associated with the Performing Arts Center, the CRA ,shall be responsible for all land acquisition, including the use of eminent domain I to acquire land, 2.
