HomeMy WebLinkAboutSEOPW-CRA-R-02-0083SEOPW/CRA ITEM 4 RESOLUTION NO. 0 2 - 83 A RESOLUTION.OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("CRA") REQUESTING THAT THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AND THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION CONSIDER ENTERING INTO A STRATEGIC ALLIANCE WITH CHARITY UNLIMITED OF FLORIDA, INC. ("CAMILLUS HOUSE") FOR THE PROVISION OF ADDITIONAL SERVICES FOR THE HOMELESS, WITHIN THE CITY OF MIAMI, IN COORDINATION WITH OTHER GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES AND PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS AND FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE NUMBER OF BEDS AVAILABLE FOR USE BY THE HOMELESS BY AN ADDITIONAL 300 TO 600.BEDS. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Board of Directors requests that the Mayor of the City of Miami and the Miami City Commission consider entering into a strategic alliance with Charity Unlimited of Florida, Inc. ("Camillus House") for the provision 02- 83 of additional services for the homeless, within the City of Miami, in coordination with other governmental entities and private organizations and for the expansion of the number of beds available for use by the homeless by an additional 300 to 600 beds. Section 3. The resolution shall be effective immediately upon its adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 25th day of April, 2002. ATTEST: PRISCILLA A.
