A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST. COMMUNITY
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("CRA") AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO COORDINATE AND TO WORK
CLOSELY WITH THE GREATER MIAMI CONVENTION
AND VISITORS BUREAU, AND ANY OTHER
PROMOTIONAL ENTITY, TO PUBLICIZE THE
BENEFITS OF UTILIZING AND PARTICIPATING IN
ACTIVITIES THAT GENERATE PEDESTRIAN AND
EVENT TRAFFIC WITHIN THE REDEVELOPMENT
DISTRICTS, AND TO COORDINATE AND TO WORK
CLOSELY WITH THE APPROPRIATE CITY OF MIAMI
OFFICIALS AND DEPARTMENTS ON ALL SUCH
ACTIONS TAKEN; AND DIRECTING THE EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR TO REPORT, FROM TIME TO TIME, TO
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS ON THE STATUS OF ALL
PROMOTIONAL PROGRAMS, ACTIVITIES AND
PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN AS DESCRIBED BY THIS
RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community
Redevelopment Agency ("CRA") is responsible for carrying out
community redevelopment activities and projects in the CPA
Redevelopment Area established pursuant to the CRA Redevelopment
Plan; and
WHEREAS, the CRA desires to work closely with the Greater
Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, and any other promotional

entity, to publicize the benefits of using and participating in
events that generate pedestrian and event traffic within CRA
Districts and, further, to closely coordinate with appropriate
City of Miami departments and officials on all such actions
taken and to report, from time .to time, on the status of all
such promotional programs, activities and project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are incorporated herein as if fully
set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Board of Directors authorizes the
Executive Director to coordinate and to work closely with the
Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, and other
promotional entity, to publicize the benefits of utilizing and
participating. in activities that generate pedestrian and event
traffic within the CRA Redevelopment Districts, and to
coordinate and to work closely with the appropriate City of
Miami officials and departments on all such actions taken.
Section 3. The Executive Director is directed to
report, from time to time, to the Board of Directors on the
status of all promotional programs, activities and projects
undertaken'as described by this Resolution.

Section 4. The Resolution shall be effective upon its
adoption.

GENERATE PEDESTRIAN AND EVENT TRAFFIC WITHIN THE CRA DISTRICTS; AND
FURTHER, TO CLOSELY COORDINATE WITH APPROPRIATE CITY DEPARTMENTS AND
OFFICIALS ON ALL SUCH ACTIONS TAKEN; AND FURTHER, TO REPORT FROM TIME
TO TIME ON THE STATUS OF ALL SUCH PROMOTIONAL PROGRAMS, ACTIVITIES AND

events that generate pedestrian and event traffic within the CRA Districts; and further, to closely
coordinate with appropriate city departments and officials on all such actions taken; and further, to
report from time to time on the status of all such promotional programs, activities and projects.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SEOPW
COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the CRA Board of Directors approve the attached resolution authorizing the
Executive Director to work closely with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, and any such
promotional entity, to make known the benefits of using and participating in events that generate
pedestrian and event traffic within the CRA Districts; and further, to closely coordinate with appropriate
city departments and officials on all such actions taken; and further, to report from time to time on the
status of all such promotional programs, activities and projects.
BACKGROUND
The CRA is committed to removing blight and slum from the Redevelopment Districts and to promote
the area as an Entertainment and Tourist Destination. By coordinating and working jointly with the
Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, the CRA hopes to fully promote the venues occurring
within the CRA Redevelopment Areas.
