A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("CRA")
AWARDING THE EXTERIOR BUILDING LIGHTING CONTRACT TO GANCEDO
TECHNOLOGIES, INC., AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITHIN 60 DAYS FOR THE
EXECUTION OF THE SCOPE OF WORK AS DETAILED IN THE BID DOCUMENT
SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS FROM ACCOUNT NUMBER
686001.590320, AND IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CRA GENERAL
COUNSEL.
WHEREAS, the CRA desires to enhance the Omni area by providing business with exterior
building lighting to enhance security; and
WHEREAS, the CRA, pursuant to resolutions SEOPW/CRA R-02-21 amended by
SEOPW/CRA R-02-20, provided an in -kind grant to Big Time Equipment, Inc. for the exterior lighting
of two existing buildings, Big Time Hotel "Vera" Building and the Big Time Bank Building, located at
1334 North Miami Avenue and 1367 North Miami Avenue respectively, for the enhancement and
security of the subject area, and;
WHEREAS, the CRA, pursuant to resolutions OMNUCRA R-02-13 amended by OMNI/CRA
R-02-18, provided an in -kind grant to the City of Miami for the exterior lighting of Firestation No. 2
located on the corner of NW 14`h Street and Miami Avenue, and;
WHEREAS, the CRA pursuant to resolutions SEOPW/CRA R-02-23 and OMNI/CRA R-02-15
authorized the Executive Director to piggy back off the City of Miami's list of approved vendors for an
experienced Electrical contractor for the installation of exterior lights in conjunction with IMDC
Corporation's design for Big Time's Hotel Building, Big Time's Bank Building, and Firestation No. 2,
in an amount not to exceed $180,000, and;
WHEREAS, the CRA desires to award the Exterior Building Lighting Contract to Gancedo
Technologies, Inc., and further to authorize the Executive Director to enter into a contract within 60
days for the execution of the scope of work as detailed in the bid document subject to the availability
of funds from account number 686001.590320, and in a form acceptable to the CRA General Counsel.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
OMNI COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.

Section 2. The CRA Board of Directors hereby award the Exterior Building Lighting
Contract to Gancedo Technologies, Inc., and further authorizes the Executive Director to enter into a
contract within 60 days for the execution of the scope of work as detailed in the bid document subject
to the availability of funds from account number 686001.590320, and in a form acceptable to the
CRA General Counsel.
Section 3. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its adoption.

RECOMMENDATION
It is respectfully recommended that the CRA Board of Directors adopt the attached resolution
authorizing the Executive Director to award the exterior building lighting contract to Gancedo
Technologies, Inc, and further authorizing the Executive Director to enter into a contract within 60
days for the execution of the scope of work as detailed in the bid document subject to the availability
of funds from account number 689004.550011, and in a form acceptable to the CRA General Counsel.
BACKGROUND
On February 14, 2002, the CRA Board of Directors adopted resolution SEOPW/CRA R-02-20,
SEOPW/CRA 02-13, SEOPW CRA R-02-23, OMNVCRA R-02-13, OMNVCRA R-02-15 which
authorized the CRA to provide in -kind grants of $50,000 each, to Big Time Studios for the installation
of exterior lights to the "Bank Building" and "Hotel Building" located within the Parkwest
Redevelopment Area, and an in -kind grant to the City of Miami for the installation of exterior lights to
Firestation No. 2 located in the Omni Redevelopment Area. CRA staff was further instructed to issue
a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for an Electrical Engineering Firm to perform the installation of the
exterior building lights.

The following is my recommendation for the Installation of the Exterior Lighting on the below
referenced properties. Bids were collected and opened on May 1", 2002 at 1:00P.M.
After reviewing all of the submitted bids, I respectfully recommend, that the lowest responsible and
responsive bidder for all three exterior lighting projects is Gancedo Technologies, Inc. for the total bid
amount of $110,177.05.
The recommended bids are as follows:
1. Exterior Security Lights for the "Fire Station", located at 1401 N. Miami Avenue: $35,879.49
2. Exterior Security Lights for the "Vera Hotel", located at 1334 N. Miami Avenue: $39,565.26
3. Exterior Security Lights for the "Bank Building", located at 1367 N. Miami Avenue: $34,731.08
