F : City of Miami Community Redevelopment Agency DATE: July 29, 2002 MEMORANDUM TO: Annette Lewis Acting Executive Director Community Redevelopment Agency FROM: David Hernandez ;J Director of Construction Management Community Redevelopment Agency SUBJECT: Lyric Theater Expansion — Application for Tentative Plat RECOMMENDATION I am respectfully recommending that the CRA agree to execute the application presented by Ludovici & Orange Consulting Engineers, on behalf of The Black Archives History and Research Foundation, to facilitate a Tentative and Final Plat of the alleyway on the East side as part of the expansion of the Lyric Theater, located at 819 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida 33136. BACKGROUND Community Redevelopment Agency owns an adjoining property to the Lyric Theater. In order for the Tentative and Final Plat to be completed adjoining property owners must give consent by signing the City of Miami Application for Tentative Plat Approval. The Black Archives History and Research Foundation has been instructed that the CRA, as well as the City of Miami, own adjacent properties and that they will be required to follow through with the City since the CRA Board can not sign on behalf of the City. This land is necessary for the expansion of the stage and to add back -of -house support space. As you are aware, Ludovici & Orange Consulting Engineer has been hired to facilitate the replatting process and will be following up to receive appropriate approvals for the application.
