RESOLUTION NO. 01 - 140
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ("CRA") DIRECTING THE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, AND REQUESTING THE CITY
ATTORNEY TO ASSIST, TO ENCOURAGE THE CITY
COMMISSION FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI TO INITIATE
ANY ACTION TO ADDRESS MIAMI-DADE COUNTY
WATER AND SEWER AUTHORITY ("WASA") ISSUES
RELATING TO THE REDEVELOPMENT AREA.
WHEREAS, the CRA is responsible for carrying out community
redevelopment activities and projects in the CRA Redevelopment
Area established pursuant to the CRA Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, the CRA Board realizes that WASA connection fees
are generally exorbitant; and
WHEREAS, the redevelopment initiative seeks to encourage
investments to remove slum and blight; and

WHEREAS, the CRA desires to provide assistance and requests
that the City Commission for the City of.Miami encourage WASA to
provide incentives in addition to the reduction of fees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are incorporated herein as if fully
set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Board of Directors directs the Executive
Director, and requests the City Attorney to assist, to encourage
the City Commission for the City of Miami to initiate any action
to address Miami -Dade County Water and Sewer Authority ("WASA")
issues relating to the Redevelopment Area.
Section 3. The Resolution shall be effective upon its
adoption.

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND DIRECTING THE CITY
ATTORNEY TO ENCOURAGE THE CITY COMMISSION TO
INTIATE ANY ACTIONS TO ADDRESS WASA ISSUES AS IT
RELATES TO THE REDEVELOPMENT AREA.
WHEREAS, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency (the
"CRA") is responsible for carrying out community redevelopment activities and projects in the
Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Area established pursuant to the CRA
Redevelopment Plan, and
WHEREAS, the CRA Board realizes that WASA connection fees are generally
exorbitant; and
WHEREAS, the redevelopment initiative seeks to encourage investment and
reinvestment in the efforts to remove slum and blight; and
WHEREAS, the CRA desires to provide assistance and request that the City of
Miami exert any power to approach WASA to provide incentives not limited to the reduction of
fees.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF NIIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to the Resolution are
incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Executive Director is authorized to work with the City Attorney to
encourage the City Commission to initiate any actions to address WASA issues as it relates to
the redevelopment area.
Section 3. This resolution shall be effective upon its adoption.
