A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (THE "CRA")
AUTHORIZING THE CRA TO AMEND THE CRA
BUDGET TO INCLUDE A LINE ITEM IN THE AMOUNT
OF ONE HUNDRED FIFTY ONE THOUSAND AND
00/100 DOLLARS ($151,000.00) WHICH REPRESENTS
THE BUDGETED AMOUNT FOR LEGAL SERVICES TO
BE PROVIDED AND COSTS TO BE INCURRED BY
HOLLAND & KNIGHT LLP ("H&K") IN CONNECTION
WITH THE SAWYER'S WALK PROJECT
DECLARATORY JUDGEMENT ACTION, WHICH
AMOUNT IS TO BE ALLOCATED BETWEEN FISCAL
YEARS 2001 AND 2002 IN THE AMOUNTS OF
$90,000.00 AND $61,000.00, RESPECTIVELY.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami approved and adopted the Southeast
Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Plan pursuant to
Resolution Nos. 82-755 and 85-1247 (the "Redevelopment Plan"); and
WHEREAS, the CRA is responsible for carrying out community
redevelopment activities and projects in the Southeast Overtown/Park West
Redevelopment Area (the "Redevelopment Area") established pursuant to the
Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, the CRA desires to amend the CRA budget to include a
line item in the amount of $151,000.00 which represents the budgeted
amount for legal services provided and costs to be incurred by H&K in
connection with the Sawyer's Walk Project declaratory judgement action,
which amount is to be allocated between Fiscal Years 2001 and 2002 in the
amounts of $90,000 and $61,000.00, respectively.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to
this Resolution are incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The CRA is hereby authorized to amend the CRA budget
to include a line item in the amount of $151,000.00 which represents the
budgeted amount for legal services provided and costs to be incurred by H&K
in connection with the Sawyer's Walk Project declaratory judgement action,
which amount is to be allocated between Fiscal Years 2001 and 2002 in the
amounts of $90,000.00 and $61,000.00, respectively.
Section 3. The resolution shall be effective upon its adoption.

$106,000-121,000
Costs should not exceed $15,000, however, this number is based on the single
highest expense, i.e., court reporters and transcripts. Since we have not yet been
able to determine how many depositions the defendants may take, this number is
somewhat speculative. The other large cost could be an expert witness if it is
determined that one is necessary. I would suggest budgeting $15,000 for this.
