A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE OMNI COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
("CRA") AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, IN A FORM
ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, WITH THE
CITY OF MIAMI FOR USE OF THE FIREHOUSE
LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF MIAMI AVENUE AND
NORTH WEST 14TH STREET TO CONDUCT AN
HISTORICAL PRESERVATION AUDIT TO INCLUDE
ASSESSMENT OF THE PROPERTY AS -BUILT,
STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY, INSPECTION AND
REVIEWS; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
TO COOPERATE AND WORK WITH OWNERS OF
PROPERTY ADJACENT TO THE FIREHOUSE TO RE -
BOARD AND SECURE, PAINT AND ENHANCE THE
FIREHOUSE AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED $50,000;
AND DIRECTING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO
DEVELOP A PROGRAM FOR USE OF THE FIREHOUSE
STRUCTURE FROM AVAILABLE COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT FUNDS OR ALTERNATIVELY FROM OMNI
TAX INCREMENT FINANCING FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the CPA is responsible for carrying out community
redevelopment activities and projects in the Omni Redevelopment
Area (the "Redevelopment Area") established pursuant to the
Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, the CRA desires to enter into an agreement with
the City of Miami for use of the Firehouse located on the corner

of Miami Avenue and North West 14th Street to conduct an
historical preservation audit including assessment of the
property as -built, structural integrity, inspection and reviews;
and
WHEREAS, the CRA desires to re -board and secure, paint and
enhance the Firehouse structure with the cooperation of owners
of adjacent property at a cost not to exceed $50,000; and
WHEREAS, the CRA desires to develop a program for use of
the Firehouse structure from available Community Development
Funds, if eligible, or alternatively from Omni Tax Increment
Financing Funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE OMNI COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the
Preamble to this Resolution are incorporated herein as if fully
set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the
Executive Director to execute an agreement, in a form acceptable
to the City Attorney, with the City of Miami for use of the
Firehouse located on the corner of Miami Avenue and North West
14th Street to conduct an historical preservation audit including
assessment of the property as -built, structural integrity, and
inspection and reviews.

Section 3. The Board of Directors authorizes the
Executive Director to cooperate and work with owners of property
adjacent to the Firehouse to re -board and secure, paint and
enhance the Firehouse structure at a cost not to exceed $50,000.
Section 4. The Executive Director is directed to
develop a program for use of the Firehouse structure from
available Community Development Funds or alternatively from Omni
Tax Increment Financing Funds.
Section 5. The Resolution shall be effective upon its
adoption.

It is recommended that CRA Board of Directors adopt the attached resolution authorizing the CRA
to develop a program and enter into a use agreement with the City of Miami on the Firehouse
Proj ect.
BACKGROUND
The Board of Directors of the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) authorizing the CRA to
I, work with property owner adjacent to the Firehouse located on the corner of Miami Avenue and
NW 14th Street ("the adjacent property owners") in the Omni redevelopment area, and (2) to enter
into a use agreement with the City of Miami for the Firehouse to conduct a historical preservation
audit including, but not limited to "as -build", structural integrity, inspection and reviews, and (3)
to re -board, paint, and enhance with the cooperation of the adjacent property owners at a cost not to
exceed $50,000 and (4) to develop a program for appropriate but potential use of the firehouse
from available community development funds, if eligible, or alternatively Omni tax increment
financing funds.

Direction to the Executive Director of the CRA: by
Chairman Teele and Vice Chairman Winton to complete the
"as build" and structural portions as phase 1 within 60 days
and to provide Vice Chairman Winton a copy of the
inspection and reviews; further directing that the remainder
of the project must be completed within six months.
