A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK
WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (THE
"CRA") I) AUTHORIZING THE CRA TO PAY ALL
OUTSTANDING REAL PROPERTY TAXES, IN AN AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED $15,000.00, ON REAL PROPERTY OWNED
BY THE CRA WITHIN THE REDEVELOPMENT AREA, AS
SHOWN ON EXHIBIT "A" ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE
A PART HEREOF, EXCEPT WITH RESPECT TO CERTAIN
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 75 NW 8Tx STREET AND
IDENTIFIED UNDER FOLIO NUMBER 01-0103-070-1010 (THE
"DISPUTED TAX PROPERTY"), II) AUTHORIZING THE CRA
TO WORK JOINTLY WITH THE CITY OF MIAMI (THE
"CITY") AND MIAMI-DADE COUNTY (THE "COUNTY") IN
ORDER TO ESTABLISH A REDUCTION IN PENALTIES FOR
OUTSTANDING REAL PROPERTY TAX AMOUNTS WITH
RESPECT TO THE DISPUTED TAX PROPERTY, AND III)
AUTHORIZING THE CRA TO WORK WITH THE CITY
ATTORNEY TO DETERMINE LIABILITY FOR REAL
PROPERTY TAXES, WITH RESPECT TO THE DISPUTED TAX
PROPERTY, AS BETWEEN THE CRA AND THE TENANT
CURRENTLY IN POSSESSION OF THE DISPUTED TAX
PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami approved and adopted the Southeast
Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Plan pursuant to Resolution Nos. 82-
755 and 85-1247 (the "Redevelopment Plan"); and
WHEREAS, the CRA is responsible for carrying out community redevelopment
activities and projects in the Southeast Overtown/Park West Redevelopment Area (the
"Redevelopment Area") established pursuant to the Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, the CRA desires i) to pay all outstanding real property taxes, in an
amount not to exceed $15,000.00, on real property owned by the CRA within the
Redevelopment Area, except with respect to the Disputed Tax Property, ii) to work
jointly with the City and the County in order to establish a reduction in penalties for
outstanding real property tax amounts with respect to the Disputed Tax Property, and iii)
to work with the City Attorney to determine liability for real property taxes, with respect
to the Disputed Tax Property, as between the CRA and the tenant currently in possession
of the Disputed Tax Property.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this
Resolution are incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The CRA is hereby authorized i) to pay all outstanding real
property taxes, in an amount not to exceed $15,000.00, on real property owned by the
CRA within the Redevelopment Area, except with respect to the Disputed Tax Property,
ii) to work jointly with the City and the County in order to establish a reduction in
penalties for outstanding real property tax amounts with respect to the Disputed Tax
Property, and iii) to work with the City Attorney to determine liability for real property
taxes, with respect to the Disputed Tax Property, as between the CRA and the tenant
currently in possession of the Disputed Tax Property.
Section 3. This resolution shall be effective upon its adoption.

for the year 2000 are for waste fees. She advised that the City of Miami will bill the
property owner first and if they property owner does not pay the waste fees, the amount
becomes a lien and is then turned over to the tax collector. These are liens for waste.

SUBJECT: CRA to settle all the Outstanding
Real Property Taxes on the Lots it
owns within its Boundaries.

It is recommended that the Southeast Overtown/Parkwest Community Redevelopment Agency
approve a resolution authoring the CRA to settle all the outstanding real property taxes on the lots
it owns within its boundaries it is further recommended that the CRA work with the City
Administration as well as the County Administration to jointly, be able to reach an agreement with
respect to a reduction in the penalties for the real property tax amounts under dispute fro the
property identified under folio no. 01-0103-070-1010.
• BACKGROUND
The attached resolution authorizes the CRA to settle all the outstanding taxes on the land its owns
within the CRA boundaries, plus negotiate along with the city and county for a reduction of the
taxes levied on the located at 75 NW 8`h Street.
